Oh my gosh, you guys, I have something seriously exciting to report… TruTV has greenlit a scripted comedy created by and starring Amy! YES! It has been a long time coming… AMY IS GETTING HER OWN SHOW AGAIN! Here’s what we know so far:
Tru ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the yet-untitled series
It sounds like the show will be at least somewhat based on Amy’s bestselling books, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People
Each episode will center around a theme such as “Wood!,” “Fish!” or “Grieving!”
Production begins THIS SUMMER (! – which means we could be seeing this next fall or mid-season?!)
Tru has already made a placeholder page for the show on their website, which says, “Amy Sedaris cordially invites you into her home, where she will show off diverse but necessary homemaking skills, from death-bed etiquette, to gutting a fish, to crocheting miniature sweaters for a mice infestation, to entertaining your husband’s business associates.” (This make it feel so real! It’s really happening!)
Full details here! And I’ll, of course, continue to post more info as I find out. Hooray!
Oh my gosh, I am so behind! Like, really, really behind. I really apologize for the lack of updates for the past… erm, way too long of a time. Wow. Sorry about that! In the meantime, you can catch Amy in a new go90 8-part web series, Thanksgiving. And I swear I’ll get better about keeping this site up in the next year.
Long time, no post, huh? Wow, sorry about that! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that you can catch Amy on Going Deep with David Rees this Wednesday, November 11, at 10 PM (ET) on the Equire Network.
As an added bonus, Amy will also appear on Billy on the Street this Thursday, November 12, at 10:30 pm (ET) on TruTV!
David Letterman’s final Late Show is just around the bend, but the good news is that Amy Sedaris will return for one more appearance this Wednesday, April 15! This will be the end of an era, but we can hope that Stephen Colbert will continue to have Amy on as a regular guest once he takes over. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime, enjoy one of my all-time favorite YouTube finds… Amy Sedaris vs. David Letterman. Love!
